What Japanese tea do you like to drink as summer approaches?
One-Pot Teabag Shincha (7g x 8 bags)
How do you enjoy it?
I really like Ippodo's Glass Teapot, and use it all the time at home. It's heat-resistant, so it's easy to use for both hot tea and cold-brewed tea prepared in the refrigerator, which makes it great for the run-up to summer, when I like to drink both. One-Pot Teabags are perfect for this teapot, and make preparing Japanese tea easy. On my days off in May, I like to enjoy shincha with seasonal sweets that suit how I feel at the time, like mitarashi dango (Japanese rice flour dumplings with a sweet sauce) or fruit daifuku (round mochi with soft fruit and bean paste filling).

What Japanese tea do you like to drink as summer approaches?
Matcha To-Go Packets (2g x 10 packets)
How do you enjoy it?
When the weather is nice on my days off, I get lots of exercise outside with my kids. Being out in the sun wears me out, but I have no time to relax when we get home. That's when I prepare cold matcha easily using Matcha To-Go Packets, and drink it down in one go. It makes me feel physically refreshed, allowing me to handle everything I have to until the end of the day. Matcha gives me the boost that I need.

When I drink shincha by myself, I prepare refreshing shincha over ice, which is fast to make. It's great for waking you up, because it's very refreshing. When I go outside, I also prepare shincha over ice by putting ice in my travel bottle before pouring in the shincha. To drink shincha leisurely with the family, I take my time preparing it, either cold-brewing it or preparing it with slightly cooled boiled water, and pair it with our favourite wagashi sweets. While waiting for it to go on sale, we excitedly anticipate how this year's shincha will taste.
