I love Japanese cooking!

What brands of Ippodo tea do you like to drink with lunch?

Tekiro 50g Bag

How do you use it?

I like to drink Tekiro, which allows you to savour the umami flavour and verdant taste of gyokuro, when I eat sake onigiri (salmon rice balls), which are one of my favourites. Combining these two produces a taste-enhancing effect that is irresistible to people who like umami flavour! I brew Tekiro quickly for 30 seconds with 210ml of boiling hot water, because I like it refreshing and light. Preparing it like this brings out the umami of the nori (dried seaweed) and the saltiness of the salmon in the sake onigiri, which makes for a lunch that feels like a real treat.

I bringing Japanese tea and customers closer together.

What brands of Ippodo tea do you like to drink with lunch?

Mugicha (Barley Tea) 400g Bag (Gift wrap not available)

How do you use it?

Cold mugicha (barley tea) is absolutely wonderful in summer, but piping hot mugicha prepared in a kyusu teapot is the best in winter. It warms me up from the inside. I use quick-and-easy One-Pot Teabag Mugicha when I want to drink it right away or when I’m busy. But I use mugicha made from whole-grain barley when I want to savour it slowly.
The aroma that rises up when I pour the tea into my cup is really comforting. It’s a sweet, wonderful aroma that’s perfect for lunchtime, contrasting with the aroma of hojicha.

What brands of Ippodo tea do you like to drink with lunch?

Kuki Sencha (Stems) 80g Bag

How do you use it?

I prepare a batch of Kuki Sencha (Stems) using our White Porcelain Teapot, and share it with the other staff taking a break with me. Its refreshing and invigorating sweetness goes well with meals. Kuki Sencha’s herb tea-like fragrance is very relaxing, leaving me ready to dive back into work in the afternoon.
