Genmaicha goes well with both rice and bread-based lunches. Its refreshing sharpness and aroma of roasted rice allow me to relax and unwind. It’s ideal for busy lunchtime, because you can prepare it right away with boiling hot water. It’s the all-purpose tea I reach for when I’m not sure what kind of tea to drink.
Shin-Marunouchi Building StoreI’m communicating the appeal of Japanese tea every day.

In the morning, I put One-Cup Teabags of hojicha and ice-cold water in my travel bottle, and take it to work. By lunchtime, I’ve got cold-brewed hojicha that is just the right, cold temperature that I like, and perfect for drinking after my meal. It really seems to counteract the fattiness of the food I’ve eaten, particularly on days when I’ve eaten a lot or when I’ve chosen a rich meal. Its wonderful aroma and clean taste leave me feeling refreshed, and ready to face the afternoon.

I start my lunchtime by preparing Japanese tea. Time is limited, so I use Drip Tea Bags.
The fragrance of the tea fills the air as I pour on hot water, allowing me to gradually switch from work mode into a relaxing, breaktime mindset as I prepare the tea.
With my lunch, I savour the refreshing taste of sencha, which suits any kind of meal. And, after eating, I prepare another cup of tea using the same teabag. The refreshing flavour wakes me up, and makes me ready to jump back into my afternoon shift.
