Drip Tea Bag Hojicha (5g x 6 bags)
How do you enjoy it?
I like to savour Drip Tea Bag Hojicha on long autumn nights. The night before a day off, I drink hot hojicha while relaxing and watching one of my favourite movies or an anime program I’m into at the time. Hojicha’s gentle aroma soothes mind and body. It’s low in caffeine, making it an ideal drink to enjoy before going to bed. One good thing about Drip Tea Bags is that they come individually wrapped, allowing you to enjoy the taste and aroma of fresh Japanese tea whenever you like. I share my Drip Tea Bags with friends in the hope that they’ll also have a relaxing autumn teatime.
How do you prepare it?
I quench my thirst on slightly hot days in early autumn with chilled hojicha, prepared by cooling it down with lots of ice. It’s very quick and easy to prepare. Just set the Drip Tea Bag over a cup full of ice, and pour on boiling hot water. On chilly mornings or evenings, I prepare the hojicha with boiling hot water alone, which really warms me up. I prepare a lot of tea in a cup that retains heat well, and take my time savouring delicious, hot hojicha.

I love talking about Japanese tea with customers.
What Japanese tea do you recommend?
How do you enjoy it?
On chilly autumn days, I let myself have a small amount of slightly higher grade of Japanese tea first thing in the morning. I relish drinking a cup of Kumpu sencha. Its rich flavour bathes the palate, leaving a magnificent aftertaste. It takes on a different character depending on how you feel or prepare it. I spend time looking inwards, wondering what kind of experience I’ll have today.
How do you prepare it?
Brew it with water that is slightly hotter than you’d usually use with this tea. That way of preparing it allows you to clearly discern the tea’s umami and sharpness.

Gokujo Hojicha (Roasted Tea) 200g Bag
How do you enjoy it?
I love the rich, roasted aroma of Ippodo’s Gokujo Hojicha. On my days off, I leave the TV off, and savour the wonderful aroma of hojicha while listening to my favourite music. Having some small biscuits or other confections as well adds to my enjoyment.
How do you prepare it?
I put the tea leaves in the teapot while the water boils in the kettle. I use 10 grams of tea leaves, which, when measured by eye, looks like a lot. I enjoy taking in the wonderful aroma of the tea leaves at this time, as well. I then pour the water that has now boiled into the teapot while it is really hot. The tea is ready in thirty seconds. All I have to do is pour it into my favourite cup, savouring the aroma that wafts into the air.
