Crisp and refreshing
This mix of umami-rich gyokuro and carbonated water is refreshing and delicious. It makes a wonderful non-alcoholic alternative to whisky and soda.
Gyokuro soda
- 10g
- 200ml
- Soda
- 30min.

10g of gyokuro tea leaves (2 tablespoons)

When cold brewing it on the strong side:
Pour on 200ml of chilled water (50g of ice plus water), and brew for 30 minutes before mixing with carbonated water.

When preparing it with boiling hot water:
Pour on 200ml of boiling hot water, then mix with carbonated water immediately, without letting the tea brew.

Add ice and 200ml of carbonated water.

* Aim for a 50/50 mix (one part gyokuro tea and one part carbonated water).

Add lemon, if you like.
* Cold brew the tea to thoroughly savour gyokuro’s umami flavour.
Prepare the tea with boiling hot water if you don’t have time to wait, or if you prefer to enjoy something particularly refreshing.
