Which brand do you drink along with alcoholic drinks?

Shoike-no-o 80g Bag

What do you like about it?

Among the sencha teas, I like Shoike-no-o for its balance of fragrance and taste. In particular, its fragrance conveys the distinctive refreshing feel of the land where it was grown.

How do you prepare it?

You can enjoy a variety of tastes with Japanese tea by changing the temperature of the water you prepare it with. I use hot water in the morning for sharpness, but lower the temperature of the water at night to bring out more umami in the flavour. And, in the summer, I cold-brew it to produce a more refreshing tea.

What’s your regular brand?

Teabag Set (2g x12 bags)

What do you like about it?

This set contains a variety of types: gyokuro, sencha, and hojicha. It’s fun to choose the type of tea according to how I feel or what food or snacks I’m eating. The teabags are easy to carry around because each one comes individually wrapped.

How do you prepare it?

In the morning, I prepare gyokuro with boiling hot water for a refreshing tea with good umami. For snack time, I relax by sipping cold-brewed sencha. At night, I drink hojicha, which is low in caffeine. I prepare it with boiling hot water and enjoy it with the evening meal.

What’s your regular brand?

Kuki Hojicha (Roasted Stems) 100g Bag

What do you like about it?

I choose Kuki Hojicha for regular, daily use. We need to make large batches of tea, because the kids take it to school in their flasks. Their friends like the Kuki Hojicha, too.

How do you prepare it?

I like Kuki Hojicha and my family likes Gokujo Hojicha, so we sometimes blend them.
