What Drip Tea Bag do you recommend?

Drip Tea Bag Hojicha (5g x 6 bags)

How do you enjoy it?

I drink it in my favourite mug after finishing lunch. Simply smelling the wonderful, mild aroma that wafts into the air the moment I pour on the hot water soothes and relaxes me. And, it has a great taste that is every bit as good as hojicha prepared in a kyusu teapot. It leaves my mouth feeling refreshed, so I am ready to dive back into work in the afternoon. I make myself a second mug using the same tea leaves to keep me going while doing desk work.

What do you recommend pairing it with?

A good choice is dorayaki—two small sponge-cake patties wrapped around a filling of sweet bean paste. I think this tea goes particularly well with dorayaki, which has a heavenly smelling malty dough baked a light brown colour. As I breathe in the aromas given off by the dorayaki and hojicha, they mingled and balance beautifully. I think Ippodo’s hojicha is versatile enough to complement any sweet bean paste.

What Drip Tea Bag do you recommend?

Drip Tea Bag Black Tea (4g x 6 bags)

How do you enjoy it?

I enjoy this tea when I want to take a break in the afternoon. It’s very convenient because you can prepare it right away, whether you’re taking a break at work or between chores at home. All you need is a mug and hot water.

What do you recommend pairing it with?

The tea possesses mild sweetness, so it is satisfying all by itself, but when pairing it with something, I like to enjoy it with shortbread or wasanbon—a sweet that melts in your mouth.

What Drip Tea Bag do you recommend?

Drip Tea Bag Sencha (4g x 6 bags)

How do you enjoy it?

I prepare this tea for myself in a mug on weekday mornings, after hurriedly preparing the family’s lunches for the day, and getting the kids ready for school and seeing them off. I relax and enjoy the moment of bliss when I leisurely pour hot water from the kettle onto the Drip Tea Bag just for me. Hot sencha is the perfect drink for the morning because it warms you up and wakes you up. Sitting down and enjoying a cup of sencha gets me motivated to tackle the challenges of the day.

What do you recommend pairing it with?

In the morning, I savour sencha all by itself. In the evening, when I’m peckish, I often drink it in the kitchen while munching on things like sweet chocolates or baked confections. Refreshing sencha goes well with sweets and confections. I really love this Drip Tea Bag sencha, because it allows me to savour wonderful fragrance and flavour whenever I feel like having some tea, whether in the morning or in the evening, because it can be prepared quickly and easily.
