What kind of gift is it?

This set contains two types of matcha possessing distinctive characteristics. Both were named by Yuyusai Sosho XIV, the great grand master of the Omote-Senke family of tea masters.

How does it taste?

Shoin-no-mukashi offers abundant sweetness, while Sansho-no-shiro provides a lighter, mellow taste. Both are delicious as either usucha (thin matcha) or koicha (thick matcha).

How/when to enjoy it?

If you’re having seasonal confections, prepare koicha and savour a wonderful matcha teatime. If you’re eating everyday snacks, have them with matcha prepared as usucha.

Who do Ippodo staff give it to?

This is a good gift for a respected elder who likes matcha and likes to try lots of different flavours.
