What kind of gift is it?

This is a set that encourages exploration of the difference in the verdant aroma of each of these two teas. It is appropriate for recipients who appreciate the delicate fragrances of Japanese teas.

How does it taste?

The grassy aroma, resembling the smell of the seashore, is a hallmark of gyokuro. The aroma of shincha is the fresh grassy aroma that spills from the new buds when they have just been picked.

How/when to enjoy it?

Enjoy the distinctive verdant aroma in combination with fresh seasonal foods. The enjoyment is heightened by the variety of combinations, including for instance, dishes such as chirimen sansho chazuke, where tea is poured over rice topped with Japanese pepper and small dried fish.

Who do Ippodo staff give it to?

Older friends who are good at cooking and good at hospitality. It is interesting to see what sort of combinations they come up with.
